What is the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme?
The Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) provides grant funding to publicly funded organisations to help reduce carbon emissions from their buildings. The scheme supports the transition away from fossil fuel heating, improving energy efficiency and sustainability.
Funding is typically available for activities such as developing heat decarbonisation plans and preparing for capital funding applications.

The scheme is open to a wide range of public sector organisations, including, but not limited to:
- Local authorities
- Multi-academy trusts (MATs) and academies
- Universities and further education institutions
- NHS Trusts
- Government departments
- Emergency services
- Leisure centres and cultural institutions
